We love to receive revolutionary news from readers from Sweden. This time, the direct action allowed a new perspective to shed light on the situation with the pandemic in Sweden, known for its “special approaches” to the coronavirus. In this social state, many people died because of the greed of private owners of nursing homes. But the comrades proved that no one had forgotten or forgiven them.
Thousands of people have died in Sweden during the coronavirus pandemic. At least some of these tragic deaths were caused by the way the epidemic was confronted by the privatized health care system.
For the past year and a half, we’ve been reading how nurses in nursing homes have been forced to make personal protective equipment themselves because they weren’t issued in the workplace, how pre-certified hourly workers couldn’t take sick leave because otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to survive, just as capitalists didn’t staff to increase profits. and therefore the workers were physically unable to take care of all the patients. The result has been a disproportionate number of coronavirus outbreaks in nursing homes across the country. Large private companies counted profits, while people died because of their “care”.
The owners of the private company Attendo showed special cruelty, cynicism, greed, contempt for the human person in these difficult times. We’ve seen reports of workers buying breakfasts for patients in Attendo nursing homes with their own money, how nurses made personal protective equipment out of plastic bags to protect themselves and patients from infection. At the same time, Attendo owners shared the bonuses in their pockets. Attempts by employees to speak openly about working conditions were suppressed by repression by the employer. In at least one case, Attendo bosses filed a police report against a nurse working for the company for alleged slander. The “slander” was that she talked about the situation in the workplace.
Where are the hope and solution? Some rely on politicians, especially those who use “socially oriented” rhetoric. We know these are empty illusions. For many years, capitalists, with the full support of the political class, destroyed privatizing the health care system and other industries. Politicians are unwilling and will not help. The parliamentary spectacle exists only to pacify us, to suppress our will to resist. But we don’t think to give up.
We need a revolution. The current system must be destroyed, and the only way to do so is through revolutionary methods. The fire of rebellion will not go out even in the darkest of times. We are always ready to attack!
On the night of October 1, we burned a minibus and a car belonging to the private company Attendo. Greedy capitalists have tried revolutionary medicine, and this is just the beginning. Fire is the best remedy for the virus of capitalism.
